The feeling I got reading Hard Choices was that Clinton was being very controlled with the truth, it was not as revealing as it could have been as a memoir. It reads as the memoir of a politician who is not yet done with her political journey - and as we know Clinton was aiming to keep trying for the Presidency.
I agree with you, it felt as though she was constantly holding something back. Even in the first chapter when she was describing conceding to Obama, it felt as though she was almost missing from the narrative.
By coincidenceIm actually reading while in Washington (foggy bottom, no less!) i was most struck by her candour and sense of humour that didn’t translate in Clinton the candidate, in either of her presidential campaigns.
How honest did you think she was being?
