Bob Lee (boblee333) | 13 comments I just received my latest issue of Time Magazine (August 18th, 2014). It had a 1-page article about big companies and anti-trust, but actually about 1/3 of the page was spent bashing Amazon. It got me really annoyed in that it was so totally 1-sided. It appears they have the article online, so here's the link:

Marti Lewis (mlewis78) | 11 comments I don't see the issue of Amazon's relationships with publishers as having anything to do with the big mergers (cable companies at the beginning of the article). Big mergers are generally bad, more for the employees of the companies than for consumers. Why hasn't the acquisitions by publishers of other publishers been mentioned, considering the headline of the article? This article lacks anything new. The writer jumped on the anti-Amazon bandwagon. Pretty lazy writing, in my opinion.

Bob Lee (boblee333) | 13 comments Whoa - did any of you see this new response? As an indie author, I'm on the kdp mailing list and received this e-mail from Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. The e-mail that went out is also posted here-> http://www.readersunited.com

We are urged in the e-mail to write to the CEO of Hachette and include points like, "We have noted your illegal collusion." OUCH! Looks like the Hachette/Amazon negotiations are really heating up big time.
