Here is the link for the pdf of the short story we're reading in the second half of June: Jambula Tree, by the Ugandan author Monica Arac de Nyeko.

I finished it yesterday and I truly enjoyed it: Jambula Tree is a very powerful story. Hope you are reading along!

George P. | 210 comments When I started reading this yesterday I realized I had already read it and was rereading it- went ahead and read it all again. It's a well-written story. The 1st person narrative carries a lot of emotion, a lot of ennui, some sadness along with acceptance I thought.

Very well written story in a letter - neatly done having the whole story wrapped in the retelling of the past - and elegantly making it mostly just a love story - not a story about the surroundings og society's reaction. I liked it a lot.
