Rachel (qog314) | 25 comments I got this idea from forum posts on the Nerdfighteria forums. I'd love to get more people involved so I thought I would post about it here.

The idea is there is a group of people involved and one physical book that is mailed around to everyone in the group. People annotate it, highlight it or place notes on separate paper inside it.

Anyone interested?

I'd be up for it Q, sounds awesome. I'd be happy to chip in for the book :) only problem is that I'm in Australia, so shipping across continents can become quite expensive. It could work if you kept the book in its country of origin. (meaning where the book started from) that being said, if anyone is up for it in Aus, let me know. :)

Ari (i-theta) | 6 comments That sounds sorta like the sisterhood of the travelling pants, but EVEN BETTER!
I agree though, shipping costs would be a nightmare. We could do it by continent rather than countries though?

Yes that could work. So yes, I'm up for it :)

Ari (i-theta) | 6 comments Plus the problem of having to release addresses, cos not everyone has a P.O. Box....I think lots of people would be really uncomfortable about that - I know I would.

message 7: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (qog314) | 25 comments I don't think it would be too bad to do it by continent. Especially since we'll use a paperback xD

Do you guys have accounts at the nerdfighteria site?

@Monique, I think there are some other people in Australia you could connect with :D

I would like it but I'm in CA so...

Noa Kraus (imagineaworld) | 1 comments Great idea! I'm totally in

message 10: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (qog314) | 25 comments It probably wouldn't be too difficult/expensive for people in the US, Lenora.

Great, Noa!

Pavel (pavca838) | 5 comments Hi! Q, great idea, I would like to do that. Unfortunately I'm not from the US. Anyone from Czech rep./Europe interested? :)

message 12: by Ari (new)

Ari (i-theta) | 6 comments I'm European Pavel (based in UK), so if we could find some other EU people I'd be happy to take part.

message 13: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (qog314) | 25 comments So there's a few people on the forums above who are from Europe and starting one soon.

Molly (doodlinginthelibrary) | 1 comments I love this idea. I can understand though people being hesitant about handing out their address, or might not have the funds for it.

I'm going to get some materials together and will try a variation on this at work (at a library) where an inexpensive/extra copy of a book can circulate along with a notebook. **fingers crossed**

beautifulbasketofbooks Sounds like a cool idea. Long distance book club sounds like fun.

Rachel (qog314) | 25 comments Yeah, people might not want to hand out their address. Perhaps a PO box? I don't know how expensive those are.

Mailing things inside the US isn't too bad (at least for me. And I don't know about other countries).

That's awesome @molly, sounds like fun :D
