What kind of disagreement did Mary and John Becker have? Do you think it is a moment that Mary will use as motivation in the future?
Question issued by the publisher.

John Becker, a Very Important Person, assigned Mary Jackson the task of working through some calculations. When Mary delivered the finished assignment, he challenged Mary’s numbers because something didn’t seem right to him. Mary stood by her numbers, and eventually Becker realized the problem was the data he gave her to input, and he apologized.

Mary must have felt pretty good about herself and confident in her abilities. Further, it might have made her better known among her superiors, so in similar situations in the future, her input was probably more highly valued.
