Adrienne | 2 comments Hello,
Posting for my mom. She remembers a childhood book that was read to her about a young boy living in nyc. Possibly moved there or transitioned. Book has scene where boy presses his face against window and sees and hears the bustling of nyc trucks, cars etc. she remembers cover may have been red linen cover. May have been a milk truck in the plot. Boy may have been getting used to noises of city. Publication date could be anywhere from 1940s to 1960s. Mom was born in 1955 so around that era. Thanks in advance!

A few guesses:

- Indian Hill by Clyde Robert Bulla?

- Barto Takes the Subway by Barbara Brenner? "A hard-cover picture book designed to improve reading comprehension and sight vocabulary. The story is centered around the life of a young boy who has recently moved to New York City with his family. It is printed in large type and is illustrated with black-and-white photographs."
