Tom (tomdb) | 5 comments NPR are asking readers to submit their top 5 horror books (novels, anthologies, short stories, or series), to be curated into a top 100:

Would be nice to see some more literary works represented. Feel free to post your 5 choices below too! I’m interested in what you’d all pick.

3. A Warning to the Curious by M. R. James (short story)
4. The Events at Poroth Farm by T. E. D. Klein (short story)

Marie-Therese (mariethrse) | 550 comments Nice choices, Tom! I contemplated submitting to the NPR query but I hate that they ask for so much personal data and I'm not sure how they'll be sharing and storing it.

Anyway, my choices, off the top of my head and subject to change at any time, are as follows:

1. Hell Screen by Ryūnosuke Akutagawa
2. Sweetheart, Sweetheart by Bernard Taylor
3. Lovers Living, Lovers Dead by Richard Lortz
4. The Vampire Tapestry by Suzy McKee Charnas
5. Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad by M. R. James

Heidi Ward (battyward) | 11 comments A difficult task, but today I'll go with, in no significant order:

1. Harvest Home (novel)
2. The Croning (novel)
3. 20th Century Ghosts (stories)
4. Anno Dracula (novel)
5. The Complete Works of H.P. Lovecraft (stories)
