Thank you so much. For prayers and good thought. I was scared witless. So Janny is keeping me company so that I don't think about things beyond my control and instead accompany Mykkael on his quest.
That's good Mayim. I mean good that you think about something else and not the stuff you can't control. This book was also my companion during a very dark time in January. And I clung to it the way a drowning man clings to a thrown life-line. And amazingly, it helped! Another reason for which it's always gonna be THE BOOK for me.I do hope everything will be fine and you'll get to read this also to your little baby when he or she is all grown up. 💕💕
It might turn out to be THE BOOK, Laura. :) It keeps me engaged, and I am ever so grateful for it. On the side note, I am so frustrated that (view spoiler)

He is magnificent. I agree. The story wouldn't be the same without him in it. I love him too you know. :)

It was the scene with Mykkael knocking out the guard that was coming to escort him to Taskin. Which was completely explained in the next chapter. I am enjoying the book but a bit of real life has stopped my progress until tomorrow-currently in chapter ten. I will vote in your poll after I join the group..lolHope everyone and their respective families are doing well.

This book is just great, Veronica. I am so grateful to Laura for bringing this novel to my attention. It's literally keeping me sane. This writer is a fantasy goddess. She writes better than Kay, I kid you not. Her plot is exquisite. Her characters more alive than some real people I know. I am enjoying every page.
I'm glad you have something good to keep your mind busy, Mayim.Tell me true though, ladies. Is there a love triangle in this? Anytime I see a story that involves a woman and two men I get wary.
Nope. No triangle. It's really refreshing. Great females though!
No love triangle Veronica. Unrequited love - perhaps from a certain angle/side. True deep and long lasting love - deffinitely yes. Can't say more because I'll spoil and I am sure by now our Mayim is already guessing which love I'm talking about. I can practically hear the wheels clicking. 😀And Mayim - now I've just got to say it girl: I TOLD YOU SO!!! Better than Kay! (Sorry. Just couldn't hold it back. :D)
@Mayim, now imagine an 11 book epic high fantasy by her....Janny Wurts is something else.I hope to read the next few chapters tonight.

I am at chapter 25, the pressure is unbearable but at least all the masks have fallen off.

You have no idea how it helps. Mr de Vries was like a rock beside me, but just to know that you, my marvelous friends, are also beside me in thought and prayer, that was a miracle that made my eyes moist more than once.

I really enjoy how much Janny Wurts takes the time to develop characters in this careful, slow way. She just approaches every relationship with so much care and attention to detail.I'm halfway through now, and I'm enjoying it a lot.
@Olivia - Yes. Her characters are amazing. And the best part is that it applies for not only the main protagonists but even the side characters.I'm glad you also like it.
@Mayim - you never did tell me how you felt about the last few pages of this book.

Hello and nice to be back. Hope everyone’s holidays are going as great as possible. Halfway finished and loving this book. Mykkael has more honor in his pinkie than most people have in their entire lives. A great rollicking book and looking forward to finishing it today or tomorrow!!

I prefered the beginning half to the second half to be honest, and I’d like to re-read to see what I’ve missed the first time around. The last few pages broke my heart.
@Olivia - I loved all those also. And I felt the same way about the book. I loved the first part more and the last few pages... those were fabulous!!
