maybe its not just me but I started to hate series.
they feel so rushed
and it can be boring sometimes
I have a very hard time trying to figure if a book is standalone or is part of a series (any tips for that XD)

lmgtfy.com would be my suggestion. There is also this great website "goodreads.com". Type in the name of the book and it will pop up. If it's part of a series, the name of the series will appear in brackets.

Well, there's no problem with just reading stand-alones. Your issues with series are justified but if you can get past it, a lot of series aren't as bad as others.

I know what you mean. I had to take a break for awhile since alot of series started having too many filler books and just stretched on and on in a rushed way. I think the only series I didn't feel that way about was Garth Nix' Key's to the kingdom.

Have you read it? it's like Harry Potter only if he had a proper family and more than one bad guy to deal with!
