Espen (asherett) | 5 comments Hi! Many apologies if this a very easily answered question, or if I'm asking in the wrong place. I tried searching the forum a bit and read through the author part of the Librarian Manual, but didn't find an answer.

The linked book, which I recently edited/corrected, is now linked to the wrong Mike Mason. This is also the case for quite a few other Chaosium released/Call of Cthulhu related books.

This is the wrong author: Mike Mason

This is the right author: Mike Mason

How do I specify the right Mike when editing a book? The correct one doesn't show up at all in Goodreads searches, not even in the add author function of this very post topic window.

Many thanks for any advice :)

Olivia (livka) | 7927 comments The first author listed has a 1-space profile.
The second 2-space profile.

Espen (asherett) | 5 comments Thank you! Is there any way to see how many spaces are in an author's name?

Olivia (livka) | 7927 comments For librarians - yes. You can go to any book listed on his profile and see / copy the name from book editing page.

Arenda | 22183 comments When you hover over the link at the bottom of the "books by author" page, each space is indicated with a '+'.

Example: https://www.goodreads.com/author/list...

Note at the bottom is: * Note: these are all the books on Goodreads for this author. To add more books, click here.
Hovering over "click here" has the number of spaces in the URL.

Gabriella D Mont | 7 comments I am having this same issue. There are two J.J. Knights here.

https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Both already have existing profiles, but they also seem to have the same number of spaces in their profile names.

On the first link, The Accidental Harem, The Tempest and The Wicked all should be associated with the second link.

Can someone please move all three books to the correct J.J. Knight and also please advise me how we can keep these two authors separate when they seem to have the same number of spaces?

Olivia (livka) | 7927 comments #7 first is 1-space, second 2-space profile
books moved accordingly

Mette (metteius) | 5 comments Hi guys.

I'm not quite getting how I can check if the author is a one-space or a two-space profile, but I am trying to get this book (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...) to change authors to a different Jamie Winters.

Here is the profile it "belongs" to right now: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

And this is the Jamie Winters who is the rightful owner of the book: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Can someone help me fix it? Thanks, guys.

(Sorry for adding it to this post - I wasn't sure if I should make a new one or not.)

When a thread is connected to a specific book (see top of page), it is better to create a new thread for your book.

Absolutely. I only discovered it after I had already posted, since I searched for the specific issue. Will keep that in mind for next time :)
