Nominations are now open for the July Group Reads and will close on 18th June 2018 at midnight GMT. Voting will then be from 20th to 27th June 2018 inclusive.

You may nominate Two books, one in each category (1. Group Main Read, 2. Group Value Read)
Value books must be £4 ($6.02) or less and will also be added from the freebies board or good finds.

General rules for Group Reads

1) If your nomination wins - you will be asked to be the discussion leader.

2) No self-nominations by authors please.

3) Please try not to repeat an author we have read in the last year, for the sake of variety. Check our bookshelves to see the authors we've read in the past year.
https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

4) For your nomination please try and include Title, Author and Link (Use the "add book/author" link at the top of the comment box).

5) Please ensure your nomination is a British Mystery. Please see the thread https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... for what is considered a British Mystery if you are unsure.

If you nominate a book that is part of a series please be sure that it can be read as a standalone for those members that may not have read the other books in the series.

currently free on Amazon.com with Prime
$1.99 if you don't have Prime

Apparently this is a spin off book from another series the author has. I have not read anything by him.

When the body of a man is discovered in woodlands outside Manchester, a ten-year missing-persons investigation can finally be filed away. But this was no ordinary death: gagged, bound and buried alive, he was the victim of a sophisticated and sadistic killer. And there is something else that has the National Crime Agency puzzled. A single character carved into a nearby tree.

Newly promoted to the NCA's Behavioural Sciences Unit, Senior Investigator Joanne Stuart is determined to hunt down the perpetrator. Just as Jo's investigation begins to reveal links with other disappearances, there is another murder. This is no longer a cold case; she is dealing with the escalating violence of a chilling serial killer.

Stepping into a sinister world of secrets, symbols and rituals, Jo will have to confront the legacy of her own past and the violent memories that lurk there if she is going to solve this case. But at what cost?

Brian Kirk | 24 comments Frost At Christmas is my nomination for Value read this month. This Great Series by R.D. Wingfield was made into a great television series staring David Jason. This is one of my favorite series of books which had a total of 6 books as well as four prequels that have been written by a different author. This is a great detective story with Jack Frost dealing with many different cases at once just as a real detective would, he is not your traditional detective often butting heads with his Superintendent.

Ok for the Main Group read I will nominate

Dear Amy by Helen Callaghan
Dear Amy by Helen Callaghan.
"A local schoolgirl has been missing for weeks when Margot Lewis, agony aunt of the 'Dear Amy' advice column, receives a letter:

Dear Amy,

I've been kidnapped by a strange man.
I don't know where I am.

Please help me,
Bethan Avery

This must be a hoax. Because Bethan Avery is another young girl, who went missing twenty years ago.

As more letters arrive, Margot becomes consumed by finding the sender and - unlike the police - convinced that the girls' disappearances are connected.

Solving this puzzle could save someone's life - but could it also cost Margot her own?"

£4.99 in UK and link is https://amzn.to/2sYQ6TF

On Amazon.com it shows only paperback at $10.29 but plenty of used from $0.98 so should be ok.

I haven't read this in so many years - even if it doesn't win the nomination I am going to have to get my copy out and reread it soon.

I was nominating "Cover Her Face" as a Main read because of the US price.

Don't forget to vote for the July Reads. Three days left to vote.

Main read has a clear winner at the moment but the value book is close with two votes in it.
Please do vote as it is always good to have as many votes as we can then we know for sure they are the reads that the majority want.
