I have never read this, but it does sound like the SNL skit called "The Chosen One". Could it have been based on that?
Not sure if I should keep bumping this one, as it seems very unlikely to be solved - as it was never printed physically, nor sold for profit. Potential readership, extremely low.

Ain't A Hero" by Bryan Schuder - which I found via websearch and promptly devoured. Ooops.So, this was published online. Likely a forum / post on a website. It may have been on an independent personal webserver.
Gist of it was, an armored(?) elf shows up in someone's living room/apartment, and gives a bored recital speech about how the person is the chosen one, blah, blah, blah. MC may threaten to call cops for breaking & entering. Elf may demonstrate magic to prove he's not some cosplaying wacko. And the person is put off by the Elf's lack of conviction/presentation, and declines. The Elf is aghast. Elf: How dare you! None of the other chosen ones have ever declined. MC: What? How many people have you lured to their doom with this? And Elf is going to force the person to come to another dimension and be the chosen one. Jumps over a sofa menacingly with a sword.
