Like Netflix and Hulu they are cutting out the middle man

Does anyone have any thoughts on the move?
What could this mean for the industry?
Has anyone read any of their original titles?

I hope this gives creators a chance that they may not have received in the past.

My first thought was "Oh great, a glutton of crappy comics" like Kindle Direct Publishing. I mean it's not much different then Image, Dark Horse, or IDW's business model except creators have to go through an editor to get their work published which undoubtedly filters out a lot of terrible comics.

I did see they are doing Print on Demand. I wonder if anyone will do that considering they'd have no collectability unlike a normal physical comic.

Being a CU subscriber, I'm way more willing to try these books. So I'll definitely read 1-2 of them at least just to see what they're about.

Christopher (Donut) | 98 comments This move seems to have affected the price of Marvel and DC comics in the Kindle store.

Spider-Man: Marvel Team-Up went from $8.50 to $16.99, for example.

I would guess that's a coincidence. Marvel comics on Kindle have been fluctuating wildly the last 6-12 months.
