Andrew McBride | 78 comments On my ANDREW McBRIDE AUTHOR BLOG, I discuss ‘WHAT MAKES A WESTERN A WESTERN.’ Is STAR WARS a western? Or NED KELLY? ZULU? THE SEVEN SAMURAI? THE VIKINGS? GONE WITH THE WIND? THE ALAMO? DJANGO UNCHAINED? LAST OF THE MOHICANS? SEMINOLE? BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK? You may not agree with my conclusions but come and browse anyway! http://andrewmcbrideauthor.blogspot.c...

Edwin (edmandu) | 235 comments Thanks for the interesting article. I've often felt that Western movie motifs and tropes have been consumed by space opera and superhero movies, but yeah - they're definitely not Westerns in my opinion.

Glad you enjoyed the article, Edwin. It's more for opening up a debate than me coming to a fixed conclusion about 'What makes a western a western.'
