Yes I read the first one and the prequel (that should be read after book 1 !) and liked them, even though the first one is more of a classic UF / PR, and that wasn't what I was expecting from Pippa Freaking DaCosta, Author of the Marvellous 1000 Revolution Series. But it was still good ^^

Yep that's quite a lot of mangas ! And I'm sure I still forgot a lot of series...
So today I started Fairy Tail (yup, that's what I do, instead of continuig to this big ass series like Naruto, I prefer to start another long one. Logical.), book 1 and 2, so that's -10 for starting one, +1 for a continuation.

I'm kinda proud of the fact I know around 90% of the non-shoujo ones :D
(I do enjoy shoujo series, but only in small amount :p)

That's way too many manga series... I would really like to finish a few of them in 2020 as well as be up to date on more than one series ^^
I don't read as many shoujo as I used to, to be honest, now it's mostly shounen that my heart craves. I also have yaoi stuff and a few seinen. (if you've not read Takane & Hana, that's my favorite shoujo, and one of my favorite series as well, alongside Yamada-kun & the 7 witches, Dimension W and... I'm going to stop this list now before I quote 70% of the series here)

I read mostly seinen/josei, with some shonen when I'm hyped by the anime and want to know the rest of the story, and the occasional shoujo. I have only 5 series UTD:

- Sangatsu no Lion (March comes in like a lion) [seinen]: don't let the shogi aspect put you off, you don't have to understand the game at all; has one the best depiction of mental illness (and depression in particular) I have ever seen;

- Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) [shoujo]: Fantasy setting, spoiled princess gets slapped with reality and slowly becomes a strong and caring person, romance is secondary to survival/political plots/keeping her makeshift family safe (also, love interest got friendzoned so hard in his childhood he's kind of resigned to unrequited love xD);

- Made in Abyss [seinen?]: deceptively cute adventure story with kids discovering the 'Abyss', a mysterious place full of wonders.... Until shit hits the fan. Turns out, 'wonders' are dangerous;

- Vinland Saga [seinen]: Vikings! Very intelligent manga with plenty of violent action ('cause vikings), complex characters with incredible development and gorgeous art after a few volumes;

- Somali to Mori no Kamisama (Somali and the Forest Spirit) [huh... Fantasy slice-of-life?]: Forest golem finds a little human girl, forest golem becomes little human girl's dad, forest golem travels with little human girl to find other humans. That's it. The mangaka really went all out to make this fantasy world feel alive, you have weird species & plants everywhere.

Have you read Chihayafuru ? It's like a sport manga but with karuta (incredible game), it seems to be a josei.

I haven't read Chihayafuru but watched the anime (it's amazing!). The third season is currently airing, I'll probably wait a few months once I finish it to let myself 'forget' the story a bit, then start the manga from Vol. 1 :D
