The first few records I ever got, given to me by my maternal grandfather, were a few 2nd hand copies of those cheesy '70's Pickwick/Hallmark TOTP albums, of the hits of the day, reproduced by session artists. One song on a '74 edition, that I took a fancy to, had an amusingly titled track & tongue in cheek lyrics. This then wee 9 year old budding music fan, played this track to death...just to snigger at the line..."Up yours, up mine!"...and it still sticks with me to this day....Worse Band In The World? Nah...but I like their sense of humour! :)

well, i've always been their no.1 fan! apart from the winning tune, which i bought (but didn't survive the year zero cull!), i have no time at all for this crew - too 'clever' for their own good! only time i noticed a connection was when graham gouldman was enlisted to produce some chart hits from the ramones 'pleasant dreams' album - epic fail (to be fair, the only producer to score a ramones hit was phil spector, and that was sans johnny!), and it proved to be the first of a dismal run! so, yay.
Congrats to all the winners..whether they liked 'em or not!
Well played Tech. It does seem that you have a knack of winning with noms in rounds where you aren't a fan of the band (maybe it's a more objective viewpoint). Wasn't sure if nominating an instrumental for a band known for their harmonies and smart lyrics was a clever move, but I've always loved How Dare You.By a quirk of fate, Graham Gouldman's son just happens to work in my office. He's had at least one request to get his dad to sign something (not from me, I hasten to add).

Brass Neck's nom, 10 CC, released 11 albums between 1973 - 1995 according to Wiki, and no doubt we all came across them in our younger years.
They had some real classics in among the chaff, so let's see what we can weed out.
