NancyJ (nancyjjj) I posted this in the wrong spot before.

I thought it was wonderful that Outlander is on the Great American Read list. Are you all voting for it every day on the website? You can also cast extra votes and spread the love for reading, by also hitting the facebook and twitter icons.

For those who want to help, but don't use twitter:
Twitter votes don't count for new accounts without a personalized picture or avatar. New accounts don't count until 50 days later, and you need at least 10 followers. So if you'd like to set up a new account now, it will be good when the heated voting begins in August. If you need a follower, or someone to follow, send me a direct message.

If you want to read other books on the GAR list, check out our new group:

Or just stop by to post a comment on the Outlander discussion. Spread the love!

NancyJ (nancyjjj) Great, if you want, stop by the GAR group to comment on Outlander and other favorites. We set up a discussion thread for each book, and your comments might help others decide what to add to their tbr list.

Teresa Mader | 170 comments I check it out frequently as i go through their list. There are so many books l have voted for when i visit, and have voted more than once for this series. It has kept me hooked even with my busy schedule for two years now. I just began ABoSA, so i still have some catching up to do before she releases Bees.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) FYI They just opened up TEXT voting in the US. It wills start in Canada on Sept 11.

Some people think they can only vote for one favorite a day, but you can vote for as many as you want. Just one vote per day per book.

You can vote on the PBS website, Twitter, Facebook and Text.

In Sept you can vote by phone.

Hmm. Try tweeting this:

I just voted for Outlander (Series) #VOTEOutlander! https://to.pbs.org/2KW6gov

Or add #VOTEOutlander to a tweet about Outlander.

I know the phone and text voting is restricted to US and Canada, but it doesn't say twitter is restricted.

Try voting on the website too:

Oh, that's too bad. Great Britain had the Big Read several years ago. Maybe another country, or the EU will start their own.

Suzanne (suzanneskyvara) | 13 comments This article had a line in it that made me laugh. Herself reveals that her husband calls her style of books "the 'one damn thing after another' school of fiction." Nailed it.

From a story about Outlander being on the Great American Reads list: https://parade.com/692682/paulettecoh...

Teresa Mader | 170 comments I hope the series win def doing my part to make that happen.

message 18: by NancyJ (new)

NancyJ (nancyjjj) Me too. I've voted almost every day for Outlander, Pride and Prejudice, and To Kill a Mockingbird. I feel like my votes mattered this time! (Unlike in political elections in the past two years.)

message 19: by NancyJ (new)

NancyJ (nancyjjj) FYI Outlander came in #2 overall!

To Kill a Mockingbird came in #1, and reportedly led the votes from the very beginning.
