I finished this last week and I enjoyed reading this again after seeing the movies. I was amazed by the lack of detail in description and plot elements in comparison with the LOTR trilogy, but I guess it makes sense as it is more of a children's book.

Nat K (natnoir) Yay, I've finished (and slightly ahead of schedule!). The book grew on me as it continued, and I quite enjoyed the ending. But overall, this wasn't a "wow" read for me. But I can now finally tick it off my TBR bucket list.
