Hi guys! I hope you like this new challenge we came up with. It's a DUO challenge (meaning teams of two) and you are only competing against yourself. The duo will have a list of categories that they will work together to try and complete. The challenge has no deadline, but if a thread goes inactive for 30 days, it will be archived.

There are three tiers. Pick which one you want to do when you sign-up:
-Easy: the duo will only have a list of 30 categories to complete and they can read review or non-review books for the challenge. (randomizer with pick 30 out of the 60)
-Moderate: the duo will have a list of 60 categories to complete and they can use review or non-review books for the challenge.
-Intense: the duo will have a list of 60 categories to complete and they can ONLY use review books for the challenge.

*Teams get (1) PASS and can choose to pass one category, should they find it difficult to complete.

For this challenge ANY type of book is allowed. Want to read a manga? Go ahead! Have a book that is only 80 pages? It's allowed, so long as it works for a category.

This challenge will run on Eastern time, so the challenge officially starts at 12:01 AM on June 12th, 2018. Books must be finished after the challenge starts in order to count. Since the categories aren't called, your duo can work as quickly or as slowly through the tasks as they want.

*******

When signing up, please let me know:

(1): Approximately how many books you read in a month
(2): Which tier you want to do (Easy, Moderate, or Intense)
Lastly, if you have someone who wants to be on the same duo as you, just mention that in your signup comment and have them confirm.

RULES

*Team Roles: Assigned categories can be divvied up however each team would like. Keep in mind that for a team to complete a category, only one member of the duo needs to read a book for that category.
*Page Count: Unless the category you are completing gives a specific page count, there is NOT a minimum page count for this challenge.
*Format: You can read any format you like (eBook, audiobook, print, etc).
*Genre: As long as your book matches the instructions for the category you are completing, you can read any genre you like (picture books, poetry books, manga, travel books, fiction, nonfiction... anything goes!).
*Read Dates: You can use books you've started reading at any time, however you must finish the books on or after the challenge start date.
*Rereads: Books read for this challenge must be books you are reading for the first time (no rereads).

So, as long as you will be finishing your book for the first time during this challenge, and your book works for the category you are completing, go for it! :)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4568 comments Mel, did you know there are two categories that have moon on the cover and bridge on the cover? Was that intentional?
moon #15, 58
bridge #17, 59

I'm okay with it. Both teammates could read one that way. Just thought I'd check.

It was not intentional. I knew I should have went over the categories again before posting to check for duplicates...thank you for noticing. I've changed them. :)

message 24: by R.A. (new)

R.A. It must be my slow, morning brain, but I always have a hard time understanding these challenges! :D

If I did this, I'd love to be with Monique, but she's doing the intense tior, and I don't know if I could do that. :)

R.A. I read about 3-5 books a month as well.

message 30: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1310 comments I'm in. I will go for either easy or moderate - whoever needs a partner - I don't have lots of review books (like 5 currently) so the last category will not work for me.

Currently I'm reading 3-5 books a month.

Thank you for your consideration R.A./Rosalyn. I'm glad you found a well matched partner and I hope you enjoy this challenge! :)

Monique S. (moniquethebookgeek) | 1279 comments For anyone interested in the intense level of this challenge, keep in mind that this requires all books read for this challenge to be books you have received for the purpose of reviewing (from the author, publisher, NetGalley, etc.), as Melanie has informed me.

I've got about 100 review books from NetGalley that I'd love to get caught up on, so I like that this challenge is encouraging me to read many of those. :)
