For being a book about suicide primarily, this novel was a surprisingly funny and cozy read. It’s about finding the beauty and the joy in the little things of life.

Theodore Finch and Violet Markey are going “wandering” through the state of Indiana. Their goal? Find the unusual and beautiful in a land of otherwise monotonous people and things.

This book was similar in many ways to “Everything I Never Told You” except that this book was a bit more light hearted. Additionally, my one issue was with the parents in this book. They felt fake and all over the place. The other characters were very well written but the parents were very poorly done.

Overall a great read with lots of things to think about.

Joi (missjoious) | 3834 comments I gave this one three stars, and had similar feelings. where were you parents?! Also, I thought Theodore and Violet were overly "quirky" just for the readership- a little too 'try hard'.
