Ann (annrumsey) | 15268 comments Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI is a non-fiction true crime book; not our usual type of group read, but a good one for discussion. Several of us mentioned interest earlier this year but we had several books lined up (and probably still do on our personal to be read piles)
I'll put up some threads for discussion, is anyone else planning to or have you read it? No spoilers on this thread please.

Ceelee | 211 comments I read this book last year! It is Fantastic! I still think about it and it was over a year ago when I read it.

Melodie (melodieco) | 3667 comments I have this in The Pile and was planning to pull it out soon. Will move it up!

Ann (annrumsey) | 15268 comments Ceelee: it is a very compelling book, I don't anticipate forgetting it either.
Melodie: good to know you'll be reading it soon too.

Melodie (melodieco) | 3667 comments I'm only a few chapters into this one, but it grabbed me right away. I can see why it has gotten so many accolades.

Ann (annrumsey) | 15268 comments Melodie: this book is also not something we are likely to forget.

Kirsten (kmcripn) | 7 comments I finished this book in February of 2019.

It was incredible and infuriating. Infuriating in the way that Bryan Stevenson's Just Mercy is infuriating.

I highly recommend it. It is a great story of intrigue and murder.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) Written like a novel, which made it so easy for me to breeze through!

Ceelee | 211 comments This book is amazing! I live in North Texas and I had never heard a word about it. I didn't even know we had a national archive in Fort Worth! The author made the book even better
with his narrative style. I recommend it to everyone! There was supposed to be a movie in development but haven't heard any more about it. This story needs to be told!

Ann (annrumsey) | 15268 comments Ceelee: I learned so much for the first time from this book as well.
I think I remember Jan O'Malleycat was telling us about the movie pre-pandemic (being shot in her Oklahoma "backyard")
I hope it resumes after it's safe to do so.

Ann, I do too. This story deserves the attention a major motion picture will bring to it.
