Are there any leaders today who you feel would pledge to give up their lives and fortunes for the cause as did the Founding Fathers?

[Carol]

My opinion is that very few of today's people would make sacrifices compared with times of old. Been trying to think of examples, and when I do, I'll add it in.

[Chelsea]

Ha! No! Doesn't congress vote for pay increases every year? Hmm... yeah I don't think our leaders have the integrity the founding fathers did back then. They just want to get our votes again in the next election.

[Cindy]

This is a good question. I think a crisis brings out the best in people. Right after 9/11 many people, including our leaders, behaved in some pretty admirable ways. I think some of our leaders today might surprise us, if the situation was right. Having said that, I think God arranged to have all these incredible men together at the same place and time for a reason.

I would hope so. We read and study history so we can learn from it and yet we still end up repeating some things.

[Chelsea]

Ok Cindy... you're right. They probably aren't all power hungry. good point

Back to Cindy's comment #4. When 9/11 happened, I know in my heart of hearts that President Bush Jr. was put here on our earth. I feel that Heavenly Father aided in that happening to prepare us for the right person at the right time.

So what happened. Look at the difference some 7-8 years later. And look what we have now. I'm absolutely terrified with our political situation. With voting coming, I don't even really have a strong candidate to vote for. I'm really scared!!!
