Well, I'm 10 chapters in

I swear I've read this fable before - isn't this based on a some kind of story or fairytale??
I think this had almost the same plot

First, WOW to have that many sisters!!!
I only grew up with one brother so I can't imagine being Azalea and having to mother them all!

It is based on a fairy tale. I've never read it before so I couldn't compare it.

I didn't like the king at first either. He just wasn't nice to the kids but then again at the time that this book takes place men didn't do well with taking care of kids. However, it still doesn't excuse his treatment to his kids.

When it comes to the keeper you will see who it really is but I'm sure by the time you read this you will have finished and know the big secret.

I love the idea of him with...was it Bramble? YES! they talk the same AND share the same aloof kind of silly humor - except I think he could actually handle Bramble's temper too!! (hide spoiler)]

he truly put up with some awful dinner conditions and just rolled with it. he'd be a great dad and a sweet husband

the end was good - all intense and fast paced but YIKES
the middle dragged. I wasn't sure I would finish this one but I'm glad I did :)

I'm glad you ended up liking it. I was happy to see that everybody ended up together. It was also really nice that the father/king ended up not being such a jerk anymore and started giving them the attention & love they needed.
