Please suggest below which book you would like to read and discuss in August 2018.

If we have more than one suggestion, we will use the Goodreads polling function to decide which book to read.

Lone Wong (lonewong) | 2 comments I've been wondering whether or not should I spend my time reading "The Innovator Dilemma". Any suggestion?

By the way. I recommend "Billion Dollar Lessons" by Chunka Mui and Paul B. Carrol. It's worth to read and be noted that some radical successful strategy adopted by the company paradoxically also consider as a perilous strategy by the authors.

Stacey | 3 comments I am interested in reading The Culture Code: The Secrets of Highly Successful Groups by Daniel Coyle

message 9: by Franta (new)

Franta (franta_p) | 4 comments I find reading biographies of great people both motivating and practically useful. In last several years I have read many great ones - find them on my profile.
If you haven't read it, I recommend the classic "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin".

Franta (franta_p) | 4 comments The last (auto)biography I've read was A Man for All Markets by Ed Thorp. Amazing book, amazing person!

I love biographies, too! Thank you Franta for your recommendations!

message 12: by Franta (new)

Franta (franta_p) | 4 comments Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
What a more suitable book for this group than a notebook of a truly wise leader, eh, emperor!

message 13: by Corey (new)

Corey | 16 comments Meditations is an all-time favourite.

I still have some of Aurelius' advice pop into my head at appropriate times.

Jennie Shi (jennie10) | 1 comments 13 rules of leadership by Colin Powell

message 15: by Magda (new)

Magda | 5 comments I support The obstacle is the way.

Thanks to all for the various suggestions!

As I see so much enthusiasm for various books, I have started a "buddy reading" section so that you can have additional reading and discussion along with the group read.

August book suggestions are being closed and moved to the polls. Thanks all!
