The poem "Caged Bird" express the author's praise of freedom. It used birds as metaphor to reflect the freedom's importance to human and other lives. It compares the wild birds' courage and its happiness which "
the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn/and he names the sky his own" (Angelou 25-26) to the caged bird's fear and its dream of freedom that "but longed for still/and his tune is heard/on the distant hill/for the caged bird/sings of freedom"(Angelou 34-38). This comparison emphasized the poet's theme, which is the praise of the importance of freedom.

For me, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings speaks to various trial or challenging experiences that I am having. That is a blessing of reading great writing. https://www.amazon.com/Love-Pour-Over...
