All done.
Cover changes contrary to policy have been reverted.
Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers on the site, as users want to shelve the cover of the copy they have. Instead, we add an alternate-cover edition. See http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1... and http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/85....
As the author, you will have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile. Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

Thank you Rivka. Sorry, I will be more careful...

I'll look into the alternate cover method - I'm not sure I understand all this - anyone who buys these books from now on is going to get the new covers that I put on amazon a year or so ago - so surely it makes sense for those to be the covers that are displayed here?
Only the Female Planet one changed recently - the rest have had these covers for a year or so, it's just goodreads was never sycned with them. So if people get one of these on Amazon and come here will they see the old cover or the one they just bought?

I notice the old ones are still coming up against my name when I list the books I've written - is there anyway to suppress this? It's now impossible to buy them with those covers anymore (they're ebooks), and the amount of people who did you could count on one hand anyway! They just seem to still have too much prominence now
Thanks

It seems to me there should be a simpler way to do all this though - discogs has a fairly good system for records where you go to one entry and down the bottom you get a link to all the alternative versions. I'm still a novice at Goodreads so don't know if that's really how it works here.
In a way books are like memes - they're just an idea and I think it would be good if each book (or idea) had one entry and all the different editions were just subsets of that.

That would be the reason to set the new editions as the defaults, which you can do, as the author. Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

Yes, thats pretty much how it works here. I have combined your new editions with the originals, now you just need to set the default as per Rivka's instructions and your new covers will be the ones that come up in searches etc
