Jennifer Tucker | 5 comments Looking for a book I read a long time ago, two children are living with their mother? And find a ghost of a little girl in an abandoned house, the ghost can somehow make the rooms change to be full of toys, or something like that, the ghost turns out to be malicious and is trying to kill the children? Sorry for the vague description, it was a long time ago.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5064 comments Did you read this book in the 70s/80s or years later?

Anything about the cover?
Part of a series?
Time period/location story takes place?

Was this for teens or adults?

Jennifer Tucker | 5 comments I read it in the early 90’s, the cover, if I remember it right, had a scary looking girl standing in front of a house, it wasn’t part of a series, and the setting was modern to when the book was written. The ghost girl was luring the children, I don’t remember a lot about it other than it scared the jeepers out of me and I’d like to read it again.

Jennifer Tucker | 5 comments It could’ve possibly been a 90’s book, I was 10-11 when I read it, it was in a box of books my mom got.

Deanne Devine | 206 comments It could be one of John Saul's books. He wrote a ton of books about ghost children who go bad. Even though they aren't YA, I read a bunch of them when I was about 12.

Tathariell | 174 comments Long shot, but possibly Wait Till Helen Comes? There are three children, mother and dad, and no magic toys, but it does have the malicious little girl ghost and there is an abandoned (ruins) house.

Jennifer Tucker | 5 comments I’ll look into them, it wasn’t a YA book, definitely an adult book.

Tathariell | 174 comments Not mine then, that one is a children's chapter book.

Rainbowheart | 22611 comments Still looking, Jennifer?

I thought of Mirror of Danger, but that's a kids' book.

Deanne Devine | 206 comments Maybe Julia?

message 11: by Jennifer Tucker (new)

Jennifer Tucker | 5 comments I am still looking, it might be Julia, but I don’t think so, as I remember most of that one, it’s not mirror of danger, although I’m definitely going to look for that one because it looks good, lol. I love the older horror books, they were so much more scary.

Scott A bit more recent, but maybe The Taken?

[on hiatus, probably forever] The rockabilly werewolf from Mars | 1526 comments Somebody Come and Play sounds like a possibility, from what little I know about it.
