Oracld271 | 11 comments If I remember correctly, a dignitary is coming to the manor, that is why the security is needed. The staff of the manor all know about the ghost and traps.

I believe it was just an image of the security man on the cover.

Oracld271 | 11 comments One of the traps is at the front door. When the security guy rings the bell (If I remember correctly), a trap door opens and he falls into it.

Oracld271, is this also a fantasy, suspense or mystery novel?

What type of work does the heroine do?

Oracld271 | 11 comments Just a regular romance.

I don't remember exactly, some kind of manager or curator possibly, but I believe she lived at the manor.

A Fine Madness by Kathleen Korbel A Fine Madness by Kathleen Korbel seems to match your description.

One Goodreads reviewer says: "Quinn Rutledge is an American hired to remodel the historic Hartley Hall into a 5-star hotel. She is on a deadline and the last thing she needs is interference from Ian Matthews whom she believes is a corporate officer checking in on the progress of the hall. What she doesn’t know is that Ian is really a Special Forces officer with a hidden heritage that is vetting the hall for a very secret international meeting.

What they encounter is a 300-year-old ghost with an odd sense of humor (she has hidden traps placed all around the hall), a group of terrorist threatening the upcoming meeting, a feisty horse who has a past with Ian, and an attraction to each other that could spell disaster."
