Sharon Lin | 49 comments This book is really a fantastic book. Although the opening is a bit common, it developed into a touching story about love between two women. It perfectly shows that true master can turn any ordinary materials into a masterpiece. Especially recommended for people who want to understand more about Afghanistan.

I like that his characters find salvation and hope at the end. Many writers make their characters suffer a lot without any reasons.

I liked this book very much. The two women, their harrowing experiences, the bond they shared between them. It is a good look into life there. He is an incredible writer.

Charlotte | 1663 comments I'm so glad to read your review. I just picked up on of his other books, Kite Runner. This one was sitting next to it at the used bookstore and I almost picked up both. I'll definitely grab it next time I'm in there.
