We talked earlier about the two books ; this one and having a few similarities but they ended up being quite different in the end. I think its the new book trend to have a group of female friends as the focus of a book. (hide spoiler)]

I’d be up to reading the book you suggested, Laura. Late July would be best. The Power buddy Read is coming up on the 15th. I looked through my list very quickly and realized I read a lot of series. Quite a few interesting mysteries are coming up, though. Maybe we can buddy read one in August too.



If any of these look good, let me know. I plan to read them in August.

Geri, I'm about 2/3 of the way through . I'm listening to it on audio, which is really good! Since it is written in first person, it is more suspenseful and feels like I am in Erin's head.

After I finish a couple of in progress reads ( and ) I plan to read . Have either of you read that one yet?

I am liking Dark Matter. It isn’t my usual genre, but I like the way Crouch writes. I’m about 1/2 done and plan to read a chunk tomorrow on a flight if I don’t fall asleep.

Laura - July 22 works for me too.

Most of the books I posted will be released late July. So probably why you can’t find them at your library yet. I put requests in for a few. My library is good about purchasing them and I get them the Friday after they are released usually. Don’t know what I’d do without the library. I guess I’d go broke! LOL

I am like you. I have been stuck at #2 on the hold list for The Power. I am losing hope I will get the book in time and will have to buy!

The Mistake I Made sounds interesting. A little provocative! When did you want to read that one?

Let me know when you are close to getting Believe Me and we can set up a buddy read for that!

Sometimes its disappointing if you 've read books by the author before and the current book doesn't live up to your expectations.

So, I have so many mixed feelings about this, that I am going to be all over the place writing my comments here. :P

The mystery: Slightly more than halfway into the book, I certainly expected the mystery to hold more significance than what it reads so far. The book started with it, and held on to it for a while, but now it seems like it is just a thing of the past and no one cares about it anymore (Hmmm! Maybe that's what the author has been trying to do all along; like any grief, as time passes it just seems to fade away). But honestly, the mystery is so completely lost by now, that I am not sure I am concerned about (view spoiler)[Kristin (hide spoiler)] anymore.

Izzy: I don't necessarily care about her at this stage, and I do think she is not well fleshed out as yet. I certainly would love to see her equation with Josh and Penny, and how that all unfolds, but then I also fear that it will end to be a very melodramatic section of the book.

Clara: Probably my most favourite character so far. She seems well flushed out, she has her quirks and her actions seem believable. Plus, I love her kids. Maddy and Thomas are just adorable!

I also love that we have Rhonda and Randi, who I would REALLY love to read more about. Let's hope there is more to them, than what we have so far.

So far, it is gunning to be a 3-star read for me, unless something solid happens with the investigation. Let's see!

I liked Clara too. Compared to Izzy, she was much more stable. Izzy was a bit too whiney for me to like her.
