Elatsoe Stan | 44 comments Hi all, does anyone have any suggestions for texts that do any of the following:

--feature characters plagiarizing
--repeat the same words over and over within the same story
--contain characters copying other stories or narratives

Thanks in advance!

Mir | 191 comments Oh, if you're down with romance, there is Faking It, which has both art forgery and other sorts of pretense (pretending to be a different person, for example).

Rachel | 10 comments Gertrude Stein's Melanctha has a narrow and highly repetitive lexicon. It's a device she uses to get into the speech patterns of the working class black characters she portrays- and to build layers of emotional tension. It doesn't have anything to do with plagiarism, but it's worth checking out. She really pushes the envelope with her technique in that one.
