I really feel for Alex. Yes, she's made some poor choices, but she has been caring around so much guilt all by herself. I just want to hug her. (hide spoiler)]

Finished - (view spoiler)[ Ugh, Jacob is still an ass. You know he isn't clean if he hasn't fessed up to Alex. -- I also feel bad for Carl's story. He's still so lonely. I thought maybe he would end up with someone in the story - Meg? Murphy? even Meg's sister?? Poor Carl.

This book has really preyed upon some of my fears as a mother. Part of me can't believe that Meg missed the signs of the trouble that both her husband and Alex were in, but then the other part can completely relate to being so preoccupied with each crisis as it unfolds that you miss the big picture. God help me if one of my kids ends up in this much trouble one day. I think the author did a great job portraying both the teenagers and Meg's characters.
