August 2014 Monthly Challenge

Levels
Easy~ 1-3 books
Medium~ 4-7 books
Hard~ 10 books

You can create your lists now but no reading until August 1

1. August is the perfect month to go to the beach. Read a book with a beach on the cover, set at a beach or set in a beach town

2. August's zodiac signs are Leo and Virgo. We will focus on Virgo this month. Virgo is the 4th sign in the zodiac and represented by a Virgin Maiden. People born under the Virgo sign are said to be analytical, observant, helpful, reliable, precise, skeptical, fussy, inflexible, cold, interfering

3. For us teachers, we have the month of August off. That means its the last time to take a much needed vacation before school starts. Read a book that takes place in a country you'd like to visit OR a book with a picture of a landmark in a country you'd liek to visit (Ex: Colosseum in Rome; Eiffle Tower in Paris; Pyramids or Nile River in Egypt, etc)

4. August is "National Eye Exam Month". Read a book with an eye predominantly on the cover OR read a book with a character who loses their vision

5. August 10 is "Lazy Day". Read a book with a lazy character or just lazy around your house and read an "easy" book (book that you can get through rather quickly and that is a light fluffy read)
