Great.. I'm having some crazy stuff going on at work, so my mind is not in reading mode at the very moment, I will jump in as soon as possible.

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
No rush, Kasia.

Char | 13721 comments Mod
Yeah, definitely no worries. It's going to be a little while for me, too.
I feel bad that you have this stuff at work going on. :(

(shan) Littlebookcove (littlebookcove) | 137 comments ohhh can I be added to this??

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
Sure!

Of course! :)

Latasha (latasha513) | 10683 comments Mod
thx Charlene! :)

Latasha (latasha513) | 10683 comments Mod
I'm on chapter 13. I'm not sure i like the narrator. (i got the audio book from audible). (view spoiler)

Char | 13721 comments Mod
Damn, you're off like a shot!

I'm not looking at the spoiler because I haven't started just yet. :)

Latasha (latasha513) | 10683 comments Mod
I sneak & listen at work lol!

Char | 13721 comments Mod
If I had it on audio, I probably would be too! Since I don't, I'm listening to Bradbury Thirteen which I just checked out from my library last night. :)

Latasha (latasha513) | 10683 comments Mod
Oh that sounds good! How is it so far?

Char | 13721 comments Mod
The first story was a blast! A company is hired out to bring people into the past to hunt dinos. Complete with sound effects and everything.
So yeah, I'm digging it. :)

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
I remember that story!

Char | 13721 comments Mod
It's called A Sound of Thunder, Jon.

It's thirteen half hour radio plays, I guess. I'm pleased I decided to check it out. :)

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
That's the one!
I loved the ending of that story!

I'll bet you are! :)

message 25: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 4989 comments I really enjoyed The Fog, so I'm glad we started this. I came along The Rats and bought that one too:)

Char | 13721 comments Mod
:) You're so cute!

I'm starting The Magic Cottage now. Yay!

Char | 13721 comments Mod
I loved The Rats! I hope you do too. :)

Addy | 4989 comments I think I will too! Gramarye started out good (how do u pronounce that?). Herbert knows how to grab ur attention.

message 29: by Natasa (new)

Natasa (natasa79) | 353 comments I loved The fog as well, I might join in on this one if I have the book.

Char | 13721 comments Mod
I'm saying it in my head as Gramma-rye. ??

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
That's it.

Gram-a-rye.

Char | 13721 comments Mod
Have you read this before, Jon? I know Kasia did.

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
Yes, I have.

A few times over the years. :)

Kimberly (kimberly_3238) | 5734 comments Mod
Oh--I just noticed this buddy read (I need to check the threads more often!). I've actually been wanting to re-read this one. I think my original rating says "3 stars", and I'm certain that I liked this one quite a bit... I think I may have "mis-labeled" when I originally added it here.

(shan) Littlebookcove (littlebookcove) | 137 comments so far I'm only 21% in. and it's getting really good little cottage in the country nice couple what could go wrong!

message 36: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 4989 comments Lol. I was saying it like "gram-ary."

Char | 13721 comments Mod
The place does sound pretty cool no matter how it's pronounced, don't you think?
I'm trying to picture everything. :)

message 38: by Addy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Addy | 4989 comments Yes, I plan on reading more as soon as I'm done a novella I'm tryin to get through.

Latasha (latasha513) | 10683 comments Mod
I finished the audiobook and again I'm going to be the party pooper and confess I didn't really like it. (I didn't like The Heaven's Rise either & it was a buddy read.) I think some of it had to do with the narrator. I don't know what it was but there was just something I didn't like about his voice. for me, there was too few exciting parts in the story and I'm not too sure I liked Mike. sorry! but it was on my to read list and I'm glad to have read/listened with you all!

Char | 13721 comments Mod
That's a bummer, Latasha. :(

Kasia (kasia_s) | 2957 comments Mod
I'm starting this tomorrow, I apologize for slow start, missed reading with you guys :)

Latasha (latasha513) | 10683 comments Mod
It's ok Charlene. It happens :)

Char | 13721 comments Mod
I'm at about 22%. I'm liking it so far..it seems to be a slow burning story. :)

Kasia (kasia_s) | 2957 comments Mod
I'm reading it right now, about 5% in, just got up to get a cold beer and mute the cooking show in the background.. does anyone else read Cantrip as CATnip? I cant seem to get my mind out of cat world I guess lol.

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
Definitely a change of pace for Herbert.

Crazy cat lady...... ;)

Kasia (kasia_s) | 2957 comments Mod
My friends always email me pictures of "crazy cat lady starter kit" that has 40 cats in a box sleeping, I'd take two please! I think cats were meant for sleeping because mine is causing my legs to go stiff, little bugger likes to plop right on top.. well it keeps me reading and not doing house chores :)

Love the cottage description, 1st time I read this book it was in Polish half my life ago, so it's nice to get a new perspective on it.

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
If I'm sitting, Petrush is in my lap....and I can't feel my feet. :)

I love old English cottages and gardens. There is just something about them.

Kasia (kasia_s) | 2957 comments Mod
My dad always wanted a log cabin deep in the woods but I think a cottage will be better, just so cozy!

Reading with pets is the best, you are lucky to be owned by such a sweet pooch Jon! :)

Jon Recluse | 12043 comments Mod
I'd take either one. I like the feeling of solitude they both offer.
I saw a cottage on a gardening show that was completely isolated by it's gardens. Beautiful and peaceful.

He's my little brother. :)

Kasia (kasia_s) | 2957 comments Mod
Mmmmm a lovely one with the roof covered in wine and foliage, sigh, a dream!

He really is, it's uncanny how cool and similar you both are!
