message 26: by JB (new)

JB Lynn (jblynn) I'm so excited for this and was surprised by the number of middle grade books I already had on my shelf. Right now, my (ambitious) TBR list is as follows:
"Into the Land of Unicorns" by Bruce Coville
"Song of the Wanderer" by Bruce Coville
"Dark Whispers" by Bruce Coville
"Exile" (book 2 in the Keepers of the Lost Cities) by Shannon Messenger
"Bad Unicorn" by Platte F Clark
"Kidnapped" by Robert Louis Stevenson (this is a re-read for me)
"The Time Travelers" by Linda Buckley-Archer

In case you couldn't tell...I'm a big fan of unicorns. :)

Jennifer (jlgentry74) I had never heard of the Faryland series...It sounds interesting. I might do those.

message 30: by Rekha (new)

Rekha (rekharavikumar) | 42 comments I plan on reading:

1. The Boxcar Children books 1-3 (at least) by Gertrude C Warner

The Boxcar Children
Surprise Island (Graphic Novel)
The Yellow House Mystery

2. A-Z mysteries books 1-3 (at least) by Ron Roy

The Absent Author
The Bald Bandit
The Canary Caper

3. The ranger's apprentice books 4-7 (at least, and I have already read book 1, currently reading book 2 and will be completing book 3 by the end of this month, hopefully)

The Battle for Skandia
The Sorcerer in the North
The Siege of Macindaw
Erak's Ransom

That makes the target 10 books which I think is achievable since they are all pretty small. and my progress in July was/is quite impressive. Hopefully i will enjoy these books and continue with the series.

I hope all of the books above qualify as Middle Grade

message 31: by Maija (new)

Maija (maijavi) | 180 comments Since it went so well with the Classics month, I plan to once again knock two books off my physical TBR shelf. Those books are:

The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly
The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper

If there's time left and I feel like it, I'm going to continue with The Dark is Rising series.

Amber (bookstacksamber) (bookstacksamber) I'm not sure of the difference between middle grade and YA (or if there is one?), but this is what I'm planning to read for my first month participating:

Beginnings Obsidian & Onyx (Lux, #1-2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout , Consequences Opal & Origin (Lux, #3-4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout , and possibly some graphic novels if I have extra time.

Middle-grade books are mostly aimed towards 8-12 year old readers, and YA for older than that, mainly teens. :) Hope that was helpful!

message 34: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Since I haven't finished the Percy Jackson series, I'm just going to go ahead and read the last two books--The Battle of the Labyrinth & The Last Olympian. And if I finish those before the week ends, I'll be reading this book called The Two Princesses of Bamarre. I read part of it when I was a kid but never finished it.
