Lisa Grønsund (gullita) | 3285 comments Cool! I had the same plan but don't think it'll happen this year. I figure if Ann Morgan can do it, so can I (just not in a single year) :D Still, definitely a long-term goal of mine

Best of luck!

Yeah exactly, tho I dont think I will be as exacting with my deadlines as Morgan was. Do you have any favorites from your list that you can share? Im struggling a bit, particularly with African countries

Haha, admittedly, neither will I...four books per week is a bit beyond my capacity for the time being, especially since I still do want to be able to gravitate towards whatever books I'm in the mood for that don't fit the "reading-the-world" theme.

I haven't actually gotten as far picking any books up yet, let alone reading them, but I have received some recommendations that I can share as soon as I find the notebook :)

Catka | 269 comments Wow, this is a beautiful idea, I should do that too. Some time ago I came across a list where ambassadors of countries recommend one book about their own countries. I put some of those on my tbr list. Here is the goodreads list of them, with a link to the original article https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

For Nigeria, I would definitely read something by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - I read her Americanah, which I liked very much. Part of it takes place in the US and UK, but lots of it also in Nigeria. For South Africa, I loved the autiobiography by Trevor Noah Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood, which is basically a tribute to his mother.
I am from Slovakia, but honestly, I have no idea whether anything by Slovak authors was actually translated into English. I can have a look if you would like.

Brittany Morrison | 404 comments I keep track of the countries I read books from and about in my bullet journal, but I really need to find a space on goodreads to put it. I want to eventually read from all the countries as well. You're doing a great job working you're way through!
