1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
I got up to date in 4 series:
Cork O'Connor by William Kent Krueger
Harry Bosch by Michael Connelly
Romantic Suspense by Karen Rose
HORNET by Tonya Burrows

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I started 3 new series:
DI Adam Fawley by Cara Hunter (will continue)
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (will continue)
Shattered Past by Cecy Robson (will continue)

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
I moved forward in 3 series:
Gaslight Mystery by Victoria Thompson
Shore Leave Cafe by Abbie Williams
The Bourbon Kings by J. R. Ward

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
I had two 5-star reads: Two Kinds of Truth, which was almost perfectly written and featured both Harry and Mickey; and Reckless Honor, which had me adoring and admiring a character who I had previously written off (not my cuppa). Both books had a lot going for them and I LOVED the stories.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
This was the first month in YEARS that I read all of the eBooks on my plan. I cannot adequately express what a good feeling it was to look up and see I was reading the last one. My goal is to create more realistic plans each month and I'm on the right track. And, all but one of the books I read and listened to were enjoyable experiences (that one was just dull).
Two Kinds of Truth (Harry Bosch, #20; Harry Bosch Universe, #30) by Michael Connelly Reckless Honor (Hornet, #5) by Tonya Burrows

Melissa (melissasd) | 1441 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
No

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I started the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas and I will definitely be continuing.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
I moved forward in 2 series: Maximum Ride Series (#6) by James Patterson and Will Trent series (#3) by Karin Slaughter.

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
No 5 stars this month, but I did really enjoy them all. I'm glad I started reading Karin Slaughter again and the Throne of Glass series is going to be fun and interesting.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I wish I had been able to read more than 3 books this month, but I enjoyed what I read.

message 5: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinmy) | 2604 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?

No

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?

Chicagoland Vampires - Chloe Neill

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
My only 5-Star book this month was Two Kinds of Truth by Michael Connelly.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I didn't finish too many books in April, but they were all pretty good except one.

I loved Two Kinds of Truth, too! You had a good month no matter the small number of books read. Six series completed/up to date or advanced. That’s great.

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
I moved forward in 4 series:
The Queen of Attolia
Murder on Washington Square
Theft of Swords
Half the World

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
I really enjoyed the second half of Theft of Swords, Avempartha. The adventure was a lot of fun, and it revealed lots of new information and new mysteries about the world and the characters, in particular my favourite, Royce.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
A good month, and I managed to make progress in a few series.

Good job on completing all the books you planned Jonetta! It must really feel good to reach the end of the planned list!
I'm a total mood reader so I usually don't even attempt to follow a plan; I cannot even go to the library with a nice list of books to borrow without coming back home with a completely different bunch of titles :P

I used to be more spontaneous in my reading until I started series reading (and don’t get me started on all those review requests I accepted). I love series reading and don’t want to lose track so I create a plan with so much variety I’ll always find something to fit my mood. My reading is eclectic so I’ve a wide array of genres.

Fallback will always be the mystery genre though:) If I were to walk into a library or bookstore...I’d come out the same way you do but they’d all be from one genre. So...back to the plan😏

Congrats on following your plan. I always get drawn to reviews of friends.and don't even get me started on friends Strongly urging me to read something NOW!! But I also have so many that I'm carrying over from last year and previous months. I suppose if I can just get through the currents months then I'll be happy.

Michelle | 2549 comments 1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
Yes 1

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
As per usual I not only started but got up to date in it as well. If the author writes more continue.
Perdition MC by Isabel Wroth
I also started Hell's Eight series by Sarah McCarty. I loved the first book and not to much the second book. I think I will continue with it but more on the back burner that top of the piles
Caine's Reckoning (Hell's Eight, #1) by Sarah McCarty Sam's Creed (Hell's Eight, #2) by Sarah McCarty

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
Yes I'm actually binge reading few series so I moved forward in:
Suncoast society by Tymber Dalton
Shalia's diary by Tracy St. John

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
Nothing really stood out. I'm just happy when nothing is bad.

5. Overall summary of your reading month
I think April was a month of chugging away at some series. Or. Just finally getting to books from previous months. Some interesting reads. Some dark read. Some new authors but best of all just reading made me happy.
