Waldo Varjak | 37 comments Hi. It's me Waldo. Likely you've seen me around....

I have a question that I feel others might enjoy an answer to, concerning authors writing under a nom de plume, not to be confused with a region of feathers: nome de plumage....

One author may write under many names, one to match the marketing needs of different genres, for example.

How would I become a "Goodreads Author" if I had written books under one or more different names? Would each of my aliases need a separate Goodreads profile in order to be designated a Goodreads Author? How would this work? What should I do to become designated a Goodreads Author?

Asking for a friend.....

So the answer is to have two author names for every book: the writer's alias, however many there are, plus the writer's name.

e.g. The book written by "Richard Bachman" & Stephen King.

That is one option, yes.

Or you do the 2nd option on the page of claiming separate author profiles, but that requires a different email for each one.
