Wesley | 4 comments My sister, knowing my deep love for Newbery winners, got me a signed hardback copy of Shadow of a Bull by Maia Wojciechowska, the 1965 winner. Such a great gift!

I had never read this one and highly recommend it. Not only that, but Maia's acceptance speech is incredible.

Anyone read this one and have some thoughts?

Michael Fitzgerald | 20 comments Tremendous - five star book. My review of Shadow of a Bull may be read here

Phil J | 175 comments I agree, Michael. The quality of the story extends beyond the bullfighting topic. Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Michael Fitzgerald | 20 comments Wesley - I'm curious to know if your copy has any marking on the last page of the story (the word "companionable") or if your copy is as extensively signed as the one Peter Sieruta had (see http://collectingchildrensbooks.blogspot.com/2008/01/my-favorite-christmas-present-2007.html).
