Amanda (amanda_redpeach) | 253 comments Ok so I never want to step on any toes, and I have been curious as to how the MODs would prefer a situation be handled?

I was keeping an eye out for a book to be solved here...

And I keep an eye in LibraryThing where it was posted and solved here ...

would you rather I do what I did, or just post the link to LT where it was solved, or just stay out of it and it might end up in abandoned if OP never responds? No big deal either way I just like this group and dont want to do anthing that iritates, you guys already do such a great job and dont need to deal with me being a pain if I can help it =)

Scott Seems fine to me. Don't think a link to LT is needed.

Aerulan | 1247 comments I'm not a mod so this is just the opinion of another member, but I'm always glad when someone chimes in to say it's been solved somewhere else. Then people aren't wasting their time trying to help when it's already been found. Or left wondering about a book they'd like to read too.

And personally, I'd prefer that it be handled as you did so the info will be available on GR in the thread. No telling if it'll ever get deleted on another site at some point in the future, and that way it's still useful when someone is viewing it here and wants to see what the answer was.

Amanda, glad you found your book. Please post the title and author of your book on your GR thread so we can mark it as Solved.

Amanda, I'm a mod and agree with Aerulan - the way you handled this is just fine. Thanks for stepping up and adding that info to the thread.

Kris, I think you misunderstood Amanda's question. She was not the OP, she just filled in some missing info after the OP deleted the initial query. I've taken care of the housekeeping on the thread.
