I do that too Megan.

Ed Lehman | 2651 comments Just booked the next trip.... Barcelona, Istanbul and Egypt! Been to Barcelona before (and consider it my favorite city) and Istanbul too.... (though decades ago) - but Egypt has forever been on my bucket list.
Going in November...so, will be rushing to read most of my chosen books before the end of the season since my reading time will be limited while traveling.

All places I wold love to go! Once again, I'm envious. We are taking a less worldly trip at the end of Oct/beginning of Nov. We will be going to a part of California neither of us has been before = Fresno to Yosemite, down through Kings Canyon + Sequoia Ntl Parks to Pasedena. This will also interfere with my reading time!

Yosemite is wonderful...although I haven't been there in a while... I'm ashamed to say...although I've lived in California since 1979...I haven't yet visited the big trees! Have fun Valerie!

Elizabeth (Alaska) These sound like great trips!

I hope the fires haven't changed to much for your Yosemite trip, Valerie. It is beautiful country, though it's been over 20 years since I visited.

We went a couple of years ago—beautiful country! I don’t know if you’re a wine fan at all, but we did wine tastings and vineyard tours in Calaveras and Amador counties to finish off our week in Northern California and it was so much fun...

Yes, I hope so to. We've been keeping an eye on the news stories. Either way it will be interesting and majestic!

Elizabeth (Alaska) Enjoy your trip to southern California!

That hasn't been on the agenda so far, but I'm sure if we come across an interesting looking one we will drop in. Scott is a huge fan of Pinot Noir. We've had some excellent ones in Oregon.

Karin Congrats, Cory!

Elizabeth (Alaska) Just a note to everyone that it is not necessary to copy/paste the names of the awards in your book claim. I go to every book page when doing scorekeeping and check them anyway, even in seasons when we don't have the style.

I been to Yoesomite when I lived in California from 2000-2001. I liked it there.

Oh good! I'm excited to be going to such an iconic American park.

Karin Don't forget Yosemite Sam ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYiCP... Of course, that clip is on the desert--was he ever in the actual park?

But, seriously, have a wonderful trip!

Ha, ha! I love Yosemite Sam! I'll keep an eye out for him......

Elizabeth (Alaska) I added some more to my Reading Plan post. It's still not everything I have on my spreadsheet yet is more than I will likely be able to read, as I will definitely finish AbBY. Every season is like this. I know my eyes are bigger than my reading stomach and I have no control.

That is a funny and correct way to put it. I'm just like that, too. I think that's why I got so excited with the mega last season. There just seem to be so many books I want to read, and some tasks really resonate!

Elizabeth (Alaska) Sign in the window of the local children's store:

A book is a gift you can open again and again.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 2601 comments I have seen that saying.

Yes, hisacro; we are approximately 2 weeks into our fall season challenge. If you are interested in the basic FAQ you can look here:

The down side of traveling for work. :( Maybe you can do a little on the plane(s).

Lalitha (falcon_) | 85 comments I like traveling light. I guess it's time for me to charge my kindle. Thanks for the suggestion Valerie. I fly out this weekend. I hope to finish one before I leave and the rest is whatever I can read from my e-reader.

Elizabeth, this is the second season in a row with little reading. Not good :(

message 334: by Kazen (new)

Kazen | 623 comments The books are conspiring against me this season - I was going to concentrate on the sub challenge but I couldn't get through my first selection. A bunch of my other reads have been square pegs, too, so I think I'll cheer from the sidelines until the winter season starts. :)

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 2601 comments None of your books fit the other tasks

Kazen | 623 comments Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "None of your books fit the other tasks"

Some do, but I'd rather not do things half-heartedly. It's okay - I take it as a sign from the universe that I need a break. ;)

:-((( We will miss you.

But one of things this means is that you can just read what strikes you without a goal or purpose. Let freedom ring!

Karen Michele Burns (klibrary) | 5296 comments I'm reading, but I just can't get my mind and heart into reviewing. I think I'm going to have to get caught up with posting and leave off the reviews, at least for a while. We will definitely miss you this season, Kazen. Enjoy the free reading!

Connie G (connie_g) | 1912 comments I'm going to have to drop out this season too. My father died a week ago, and we've been busy cleaning out his home and planning the funeral. I liked the tasks this season, but will have to put most of my reading on hold for a few months.
