Nathalie Nelson If this is supposed to be in the style of Jane Austen it fails. If it is only an extension of a character from Sense and Sensibility that's different. I read it to the end but when I finished I had a ho-hum feeling about it. Too many coincidences I think.

Orinoco Womble (tidy bag and all) Aiken certainly seems to actively dislike all the characters taken from Sense and Sensibility. More than a follow-on novel by a fan, it seems to be payback...which is silly when you consider that a) Austen's been dead for well over a century and b) while Austen is a classic author, Aiken is rather a hack.
