I intend to read eighteen books for the challenge and thus far I have finished reading the five following books:"A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeleine L'Engle (banned book)
"Monstress" by Marjorie Liu (non-superhero comic in last 5 years)
"The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out a Window and Disappeared" (old protagonist)
"Some Assembly Required" by Arin Andrews (written by trans person)
"Who Fears Death" by Nnedi Okorafor (written by Woman of Color)
"The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out a Window and Disappeared" sounds interesting! Have you liked the books you've read so far?
I've read 7 so far:
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi (YA fantasy & Written by Woman of Color)
The Killing Moon by NK Jemisin (Written by Woman of Color)
Monstress, Vol. 1: Awakening by Marjorie Liu (non-superhero comic in last 5 years)
Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley (queer main character)
Six Months, Three Days, Five Others by Charlie Jane Anders (written by trans person)
Lilith's Brood by Octavia Butler (cover I hate)
Stories of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang (characters with mental illness)
I've enjoyed all of them!

Surprisingly, out of all the books I've listed "The 100 year old Man..." is my least favorite. I actually wrote a review of it on Goodreads if you want to know my thoughts. As for the rest. They've been ok but none of them particularly impressed me. (Although I loved volume 2 of Monstress!)
Honestly I think I'm just picky.
