Ch 3 - Wow! So much happened in this chapter!! I read the first book earlier this year, so I'll be jumping in on book two, but I wanted to share my thoughts on this one. No spoilers. This book was surprisingly hard to get into, given how good it was supposed to be, but once I got the audiobook I was hooked. Nathaniel Parker may be the best narrator of all time. He was so fabulous. I just got books 2 and 3 so I'll be ready to go whenever y'all are.

This is the first time that Artemis has been confronted with consequences of his actions that he can't completely fix. (hide spoiler)]

Artemis Fowl is not what I expected at all. Artemis is a lot more badass than I would think for having a younger target audience. I like how he is extremely smart, but also grounded and not too childish. I also like how Holly paving the road for other females in her field. The story seems to have a good way of taking more mature themes and putting them in a way children can understand. I am looking forward to seeing where this book goes. (hide spoiler)]

That training must be really intense because Butler is very good at his job. Also, if most humans are unaware of the existence of magical creatures, how did Artemis (and his family?) learn about them? I can't believe I am already halfway. This book is flying by! Interesting to introduce another character this late in the story. Not sure I needed that much information about Mulch's intestinal problems, but again, this is a book aimed towards a younger audience. I assume that middle schoolers would find it more humorous. Besides that, Artemis Fowl has been pretty decent so far. I was hoping for more POV from Holly, but she was missing in the last quarter. This 25% had a little more from her. (hide spoiler)]
