I'm a fan of Deanna Raybourn's series - Lady Julia Grey and Veronica Speedwell.
Silent in the Grave (Lady Julia Grey, #1) by Deanna Raybourn A Curious Beginning (Veronica Speedwell, #1) by Deanna Raybourn

Victoria Thompson's Gaslight mysteries are set in New York at the turn of the century - near the same time frame as Rhys Bowen's Molly Murphy series.
Murder on Astor Place (Gaslight Mystery, #1) by Victoria Thompson

Pat Cray-Hollis | 179 comments I tried Jacqueline Winspear before I did not care for her writing.

Beth | 104 comments The Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley is an English village cozy set in the 1950's. Also, the Pennyfoot hotel series by Kate Kingsbury is an Edwardian seaside village series. It looks like it ended in 2013 with 23 books.

Beth | 104 comments And thank you. I haven't thought of the Mrs. Jeffries books in years and I would like to pick up with the series again.

Thea | 1 comments I just finished the first two Amelia Peabody books. I was looking for a new series ( as you, I love Rhys Bowen) but I just can't really warm up to them. They were ok, but I don't love them. The same thing goes for Annis Bell The Girl at Rosewood Hall. I read the first two, but I just dont really love them or the main character, actually.

Not really Cozy I think, are The Spellman Files but I really thought they were really funny and an easy read. I read a few books on my last vacation, one after the other.

I guess I'll just have to keep looking for a Royal Spyness similar series, when it comes to wit dialogues and heroines.

Christopher Huang (christopher_huang) | 17 comments I remember really enjoying Murder in the Limelight by Amy Myers. That's book 2 in her Auguste Didier series ... I was never able to get my hands on book 1. The series is set in the late Victorian era, in England, and features a French chef for a sleuth.

See if you can find the Daisy Dalrymple series. It has a similar light-hearted tone to Rhys Bowen's Royal Spyness.
Death at Wentwater Court (Daisy Dalrymple, #1) by Carola Dunn

Pat Cray-Hollis | 179 comments Okay thanks again for all your suggestions. I have read mostly all your suggestions and the ones that I have loved are Victoria Thompson and Tasha Alexander.

I read both series of Rhys Bowen. Also researching new historical authors I found Charles Todd Bess Armstrong series. If you like Edith Maxwell midwife series you will like Charles Todd Bess Armstrong series.

Thanks again!

Happy Reading!
