The Immortalists - Chloe Benjamin - 4 stars

Nicole D marked this as a five star read for her, and she and I often agree on book ratings, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Whilst it didn't quite make it to five stars, I still enjoyed reading The Immortalists and thought it was an interesting concept that left me thinking after I had finished. Four adolescents are told that date of their deaths by a psychic, and as the book unfolds we read about their lives and, ultimately, their deaths. The question is, did the knowledge of their death dates change the way that they lived, and how they died? Benjamin used each character to flesh out various topics - homosexuality and AIDS in the 80's, mental illness, and adoption, just to name a few. The characters were very well developed and I enjoyed each one equally.
