One or two group reads?

Most of us are interested in group reads and a few are keen to read Classics. But, as Harish pointed out, we might need more time to read a classics than other novels. So, what if we have two kinds of group reads?

A regular monthly theme/genre based group read for non - classics.
Another bi-monthly group read exclusively for Classics (Classics are those written/first published 50 or more years ago. That makes any book written/originally published in 1960s or earlier a Classic).

Yes, this is a good option. Probably decreases the chances of being left out from group reading.

Instead of dividing into genres..how about picking top 3 (or 2) choices of members? and as eesha said the more choices the lesser chances of being left out...

Do you mean, members can nominate books from any genre, then we vote on the nominations and the top 2 or 3 books with the most votes are group reads? Are we going to read these books in a month or more? Please explain. I am not sure I understood the idea.

It has been decided to have two group reads every month. The two group reads would be from two different genres. Members can choose to read either of the two or both group reads. Nomination threads would be posted atleast a month earlier for each group read separately. For the month of May, the nomination threads will be posted soon.
