Each month we will give you a list of 50 themed words to find in your books.

There is no limit to how many words you can get per book.

For each word please post a link to the book, the author, the date you finished it, plus the page number/location and sentence where you found the word.

EXAMPLE -
Apple - A Touch of Ice - L.J. Charles (1/10/16)
I had a weakness for apple pie, heavy on the cinnamon... (loc. 245)

Any genre/format is fine.
Re-reads are OK.
No page minimum.
To count a book towards the challenge you must read the majority of it after the start date of the challenge.

At the end of the month please re-post your whole challenge as a new message so that we can award your Hall of Fame badge!

(Even if you don't hit the level you were aiming for, you can still claim a badge for the words you did get.)

I really thought I mis-read this when I scrolled through my discussion topics, lol! Why/how did you choose this specific animal?

I'm in, BTW

50/50

There’s Always a Catch (Christmas Key, #1) by Stephanie Taylor (4/4/18)

1. adult + 22. hair - She runs a hand over Holly's sweat-dampened, flyaway hair, her lips pressed together tightly as she concentrates on the details of her adult daughter. (loc 1561)
2. animal - "But since it's not the animal kingdom?" (loc 2008)
4. average - "And it's not just your average four-letter words she's dropping." (loc 511)
5. brown - Without meaning to, she gives a laugh that turns into a sob of joy, and her hand comes up to cover her mouth, the light brown freckles that dot the bridge of her nose still visible beneath her shining eyes. (loc 346)
9. coat - For the past three days she's been making lists of things to change or fix: she's put new lightbulbs in all of the lamp posts on Main Street; cleaned up the foliage down by the dock; and added a fresh coat of paint to the front door of Mistletoe Morning Brew, the shop closest to the waterfront. (loc 3383)
10. compose - Holly takes a moment to compose herself, then turns to Heddie next to her. (loc 347)
11. depend - "That depends on what you consider one piece," says a man whose face she can't see, even with the brim of her baseball hat casting a shadow over her eyes in the bright light. (loc 1149)
13. distance - Sunlight filters through the lush jungle of trees in her yard, the sounds of the ocean crashing onto the shore in the very near distance.
14. family - It wasn't long after her grandfather - her beloved grandpa, the man who'd pruned and coaxed a slithering, swampy island into a holiday themed village for his family and friends - had passed that Jake started talking about her selling the B&B and moving to Miami. (loc 162)
15. fast "Not so fast," Holly snaps. (loc 2630)
16. flowers - Holly sniffs the flowers. (loc 2688)
18. fruit - Now Holly watches the drips of water sparkling like gems on the tips of the palm fronds as she rinses off the fruit under her faucet. (loc 483)
19. gallon - They drag the throw rug out of the Seashell Suite and leave it behind the B&B, and with about a gallon of bleach, the bathroom cleans up well enough for River to stay in his room. (loc 1539)
23. healthy - She's been keeping up a healthy stream of photos and interesting tidbits about the island on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter over the past two years, but in the back of her mind she's always known that she was laying the groundwork for something bigger - it's not just fans she wants, it's visitors. (loc 697)
27. knee - The memory of him on one knee on the beach came back to her. (loc 122)
29. leaves - This particular analogy leaves Holly shaking her head with amazement. (loc 236)
30. legs + 31. long - Her long legs and unkempt hair give her the appearance of an Amazon gliding through a tropical garden. (loc 75)
32. neck - Her long hair is sticking to the back of her neck, and she tries to catch a breeze from the fans overhead. (loc 1372)
33. notch - She kicks her accent up a notch, her drawl as thick as buttercream frosting. (loc 220)
34. patch - "Eight a.m. and it's already hotter than a billy goat's ass in a pepper patch, isn't it?" (loc 129)
37. protect - "For some reason I just want to protect you - to keep you safe -but then you turn around and throw it in my face." (loc 1052)
38. savannah - "My mother and I lived in a tiny house outside Savannah, and she worked nights." (loc 3164)
39. skull - "This is a total nightmare", Holly says, her head planted on the front counter of the B&B, arms wrapped around her skull like a child trying to block out bad dreams. (loc 1518)
40. solid - "This looks like a solid plan to me." (loc 370)
41. spot - Jake stepped back, pointing at a spot on the pavemet. (loc 126)
42. sweat - She could feel the adventurous drop of sweat leaving a trail of wetness in its wake. (loc 121)
43. surprise - "And then our surprise baby, Paulie, joined us after the British Invasion. (loc 998)
44. tail - The tail end of the storm whips across Christmas Key around seven next morning. (loc 2115)
45. tall - "Thanks, Heddie," she says to the tall, striking woman. (loc 372)
48. walk - "Maybe we should walk a little slower?" (loc 394)
49. white - A black and white wedding picture of Holly's grandparents looks on from the nightstand, the closed-mouth smiles on their smooth, young faces both innocent and knowing. (loc 55)
50. wild - "This is Wayne Coats from NBC's Wild Tropics." (loc 3025)

Melting into You (Stewart Island, #2) by Tracey Alvarez (4/7/18)

6. calf - He made it onto the grass, thigh and calf muscles screaming. (p 82)
7. camouflage - He nodded at the camouflage-print band wrapped around her wrist. (p 144)
12. dew - Ben shifted his weight, so his knees dropped to the ground, the cool dew immediately soaking through his jeans. (p 109)
17. forbid - God forbid Shaye found out what he'd been feeding the kid. (p 33)
20. giraffe - Piper crossed her giraffe-long legs. (p 220)
24. herd - If he could herd his remaining brain cells together. (p 14)
26. horns - Kezia patted the ram's horns at the sculpture's feet. (p 195)
36. predator - Ben's smile widened into a predator's you're dessert smile. (p 58)

Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (Hannah Swensen, #1) by Joanne Fluke (4/13/18)

3. aromatic + 47. vine(s)- When the ribs came, they were tender and juicy, slathered with a sauce that reminded Hannah of aromatic wood smoke and sweet vine-ripened tomatoes. (loc 201)
35. pattern - Though it was shabby, it was squeaky-clean and two-thirds of the floor was carpeted with carpet samples that had been sewn together in an attractive pattern. (loc 86)

What Lurks Within the Woolitch Woods? by Jane Stanhope (4/14/18)

28. lanky - His long lanky legs bumped into the underside of the glove box. (loc 70)

A is for Alibi (Kinsey Millhone, #1) by Sue Grafton (4/16/18)

46. unique - "I'm not saying I'm anything unique for that, except that I took it awfully to heart." (p 36)

Paper Phoenix by Michaela Thompson (4/27/18)

8. chestnut - Even with a little gray here and there the chestnut was holding its own. (loc 71)

Thrice the Brinded Cat Hath Mew'd (Flavia de Luce, #8) by Alan Bradley (4/30/18)

21. gland - My salivary glands were already hanging out of my face at the thought. (p 270)
25. hoof - Had the Devil been here in his horns and hooves, leaving behind the smell of brimstone? (p 37)

I'm just too sneaky for you! LOL I love giraffes! I think I saw something about giraffes on the internet and decided to make challenges about them. I write these months ahead and forget what my inspiration was/is.

Brown Page 17
A sausage sarnie maybe, with bacon, onions, and cheese, And brown sauce, loads of it,
Coat Page 73
and went to the hallway, grabbing the coat he'd stowed away
Distance Page 11
Zac closed the distance between them
Family Page 44
what was left of their close-knit family
Fast Page 28
Liam felt momentarily bad for him , but it faded fast.
Flowers Page 81
Liam knelt and touched the fresh flowers Rosa left every week.

first transaction had forbidden him from doing so
Fruit Page 30
Rosa had dumped by the fruit bowl
Hair Page 1

Healthy Page 22

Knee Page 44
He dropped to his knees and gripped Zac's thighs.
Lanky and Legs Page 21
Zac washed Jamie from head to toes, his lanky legs , protruding hips, and scarred back.
Long Page 1
He hadn't really been in town long enough to tell.
Neck Page 13
and bared his teeth at Zac's neck with a low growl.
Patch Page 17
had forced him to mend his ways...or at least sew a threadbare patch over them.
Pattern Page 157
for once ignoring the odd pattern of marbled skin on Jamie's back.
Protect Page 165
You can't protect him, you know, I'll find him eventually.
Solid Page 68
and put his hand on the solid front door
Spots and White Page 163
kicking him over and over again until white spots danced in his eyes.
Sweat Page 15
With his sweat -sheened skin and tousled hair
Surprise Page 9
"Why are you so surprised? "I'm not surprised. You've just got that guilty air that made me wonder if you were hiding from her indoors."
Tail Page 16
"It's okay" Zac said "You're not the first to scarper with his tail between his legs."
Tall Page 18
And the tall brooding blond had been on his mind ever since
Walk Page 20
the flat was still warm enough from him to walk around nude
Wild Page 23
Jamie was beautiful and wild and no one would ever tame him.
