Series Tackle Challenge - "A"

This is a series challenge, where we will tackle reading those series books for series already started but not completed. The focus for this round will be the letter "A".

To complete the challenge, choose your level of participation, and read series books from a series you have already started, whose series title begins with the letter "A" (Example: Amelia Peabody series) . If you do NOT have a series that begins with the letter "A", then use any series you've already started that contains a word beginning with the letter "A" (Example: Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series). Please Note: The first book of a series does NOT count for this challenge. You may only use series books from a series you have already started.

You may change your level of participation at any time. You may choose to use or ignore the words "A" or "An".

Easy: 3-5 Books; 6 Months from Start Date
Medium: 6-10 Books; 9 Months from Start Date
Hard: 11-15 Books; 1 Year from Start Date

Just to clarify though in case someone thinks they have to read series books back to back. It's okay to use several different series for the challenge so that you don't read series books back to back. Also - there is the other option of using series titles that contain a word that begins with the letter "A".

I am currently reading Sue Grafton Kinsey Milhone series. I started the series last year. The first book is A is for Alibi and I am now about half way through the series, I'm on K is for Killer

So, would this series work for this challenge??

That is a "K" series title (Kinsey Millhone) Karen, so no it wouldn't. We will eventually get to "K", but you will probably be done with the series before we do :)

That is exactly right, Barb. You do not have to read from the same series. You just need to read books from a series that you have already started - working with series titles that begin with "A", or with a series in which you find a word that begins with "A" in the series title. Even something like this would work: Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series - the connection being "Armand" in the series title.

I think the scary part about this challenge (at least for me) is that once I actually put down what books I'm going to read ahead of time, I almost always end up NOT reading those books.

I suspect that when it's all said and done, the books I actually do read won't look anything like the list I currently have in place.

It's amazing to me how often I find the best book for a challenge or three, and it's the last book I want to read! I do like to make progress on series' so I like this type of challenge to help me along.

I lose an afternoon every so often just trying to keep FictFact up-to-date with what I'm actually wanting to read on Goodreads. It seems repetitive, but I like how FictFact is set up.

Bonita - I really like the way FictFact is set up too for tracking series. They do a really good job of that.

I think what I need to do is set a reminder for the last day of the month (each month) to update my FictFact. I already have a couple of challenges that I just do monthly updates on, so it would fall right into place...if I could just remember to do it.
