Mendel doesn't like Judge or Bellinger or anyone else with an uppercut swing. He believes that until Yanks mature at the plate they will not get past a team with superior pitching like the Astros. It is little wonder to me that they have veterans rather than rookies at 2nd and 3rd to start the year. I wonder how longer Tyler Austin lasts at 1st. Think they will gamble and bring back Holliday?

Batting the pitcher 8th has been done plenty of times since Tony La russa brought it back into play in 1998. I remember the first time I saw it was when Phillies pitcher Steve Carlton hit 8th and shortstop Bud Harrelson in 1979.

Watched an interesting prediction show where all the favorites are the winners from last year. One thing I do know, as dynamite as the Astros looked in 2018, it`s awful tough to repeat. ( Yankees- 1999 & 2000 I believe )

The world series is so hard to predict, but i think they will have home field advantage in the series. Astros over the Cubs. Let me add my wishes for a Happy passover and a sunny Easter for all. Terrible news to report. Rusty Staub has died today at 73 years young. Mr. staub had multiple organ failure. He spent the last 8 weeks in the hospital due to kidney failure. He would’ve been 74 on Sunday. Affectionately known as The Grand Orange by Montreal Expos fans for his flaming red hair, Rusty was theExpos first star player. He is also the only player in major league history to have 500 or more hits with 4 different teams. One of my first baseball memories was watching him in the 73 World Series.

I had never realized how much humanitarian things he had done. There was a reason he was so popular.

No surprise to me - most of his great play last year came from the 8 or 9 hole. It will stay Dozier and Mauer in the top two slots this year. Maybe Buxton moves to lead off next year after Dozier leaves
